December 8, 2009 on 7:36 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

So, about a year ago I  was diagnosed with celiac disease, but really did not do much about it .  Some days trying but honestly most days cheating.  Well, last week I felt sososososo tired and sick that I finally have sworn to go gluten free!!  It has been 2 days now and I can honestly say how much better I feel already, I do not feel like passing out at all and believe me, after the way I have been feeling, this is a miracle!  If you happen to keep gluten free, I have to tell you about these  AMAZING donuts… they are by Kinnikinnick foods and they are gluten free, dairy free, wheat free and soy free!  The vanilla glazed taste like krispy kreme glazed…NO JOKE!!!!  These donuts are worth going gluten free for!!! :) !

Very excited  for the start of a fresh new year (l’ shana tova to all who celebrate).  Shape diet is done and going in the not recommended plan, yes I did lose a total of 3 pounds, but you had to work out like a lunatic and the food got very boring.  So, Hawaii is in one week, want to lose a few quickly so now my husband and I are going on the 3 day diet starting tom….I will let you know how it goes.  When we get back the fat flush plan was recommended (thank you Monica) so we will be trying that! till tom

Greatest place to get gluten free and vegan traditional meals re-done :)

September 19, 2009 on 9:50 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Tonight  I went to a dinner where I had the best traditional jewish food re-done, gluten free and vegan!  It was done by LCJ catering (if u want the number just comment and I will give it to you) OMG I died over the noodle pudding, it tasted exactly like my nana’s.  If you have any food restrictiona or if you just want something delicious this is the first place I will be putting on my recommended list!

Jewish new year….

September 19, 2009 on 2:05 am | In Uncategorized | 2 Comments

So I did not do as poorly as I thought I was going to do, had a self magazine diet bfast and lunch (even though pizza was calling my name at chuck e cheese)>>>then at dinner had a double helping of gefilte fish (does anyone know if that is fattening?) a salad , a little bit of  rice and some red wine, but no dessert! That combo does not look so tasty in writing but it really was..L’shanah tovah everyone>>>

not another day…

So here is the thing, if lipo were cheap I would do it so fast !  Or if weighing 300 pounds were healthy I would do that!   Dieting is so hard and frankly annoying!  I just keep trying to remind myself that being able to put a bikini on confidently will be its own reward…oy vey!   If anyone has any diet tricks, stories, etc…please comment and let me in on your secrets!!!   I hope I don’t use this jewish holiday as an excuse to totally cheat because I am going to have to put the self food plan on hold for at least 2 meals…happy new year!! xx

is it worth it?

September 16, 2009 on 4:28 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

So I have gotten a lot of support from all of  you and I want to say thank you.  I have also gotten a couple of comments that asked if this is really worth it over one pound and the answer is yes!!! First of all, it is the first time in a while I see the numbers going down instead of up and secondly this is only the first of the 7 pounds Self magazine claims you lose over the month and I am willing to see if the rest of it will come off!  Would I rather just close my eyes and wake up with the weight off ..YES!!! but, just because that is the way the weight came on (I swear :) ) does not mean that is the way it will come off>  Here is to hoping for at least 2 pounds next week….

Down one…woo hoo

September 15, 2009 on 12:04 pm | In Uncategorized | 3 Comments

Ok, so it is my time of the month so maybe that is why I am only down one pound but at least i am down one…it’s working!   I figured I would tell you what I have been eating in case you want to start doing it.  For breakfast,I had either two waffles (i had to always substitute all breads for gluten free kinds and all milks/cheese for soy due to dietary restrictions if you want to know what kinds just write a comment and I will respond) with one tblsp almond butter, one fruit and 8 oz milk or I would have an egg mcmufin ( one english muffin, one egg 1 slice bacon 1 pc of chz)with one half of a peach brushed with 1 tblsp maple syrup and heated under the broiler, this is the peach pie I wrote about the other day…yummy!! For lunch I ate the sandwich I wrote about the other day, 3 slices of bacon on 2 slices of bread with one half an avocado, lettuce and 2 tblsp mayo, with one cup of berries drizzled with balsamic vinegar or I had a southwest burrito (1/4 cup canned black bns with 1/4 cup toms and 1/4 cup shredded chz one egg 3 tblsp  on one tortilla and one fruit. For snack I had 2 cookies.   For dinner I had salmon and one cup couscous or quinoia with broc sauteed in olive oil and garlic or I had “green mac and cheese” Mac and chz mixed with a green veggie) or a greek salad or a “taco toss”( salad with 12 baked tortilla chips crushed 1/4 cup shredded chz and 1/2 can chili and 1 tbsp yogurt and salsa)…and one glass of red wine.  There are more choices, I will try them this week and let you know!  Let me know if you start the plan too!  till tomorrow
