So today I was in the grocery store after coming back from spin class and I did not have my wallet with me.  I had a couple of dollars with me in my pocket so I went to the grocery store to pick up milk for my son.  When I went to check out I was 24 cents short…the cashier was mad and I was bummed, but told her I would be right back after I run home, that is when this nice lady behind me gave me the 24 cents!!!! sososososo nice, good karma :) .  I feel so happy :) ! now it is my turn to pay it forward…

ok, so since starting this project, we broke our crystal lamp, broke our kitchen drawer and stained our sisal rug.  I wonder if  this is just a test to see if  I will keep at this….im going to try!   After all< with everything going on in this world, I guess the broken lamp, broken drawer and ruined rug is nothing.  Although I have to admit…what a bummer!  oh and ps…we DID sign up for SNOOD!!!

day 12…Shalom

So tonight i fell in love with my husband all over again.   I love when this happens.. you get butterflies in your stomach and remember why you fell in love to begin with.  We had to go to the doctor because my son was limping (thank god he is ok).  After the dr my husband said he had to go run an errand downtown and then run to staples to pick something up for work.   I suggested that we all tag along since we were together and he had to work later that night.  He said, no he would just take our son and jokingly i said, “why do u have to go get me a present?”…   he said , yes, (he remembered something i saw and tracked it down and wanted to suprise me with it ,he is very romantic) as nice as this is, the night gets better.  When we got to the subway, he said, ” why don’t you just come, you can try it on”.   When we got downtown, every store we passed he said, come on this is it…until we got to the actual store.  The minute he put his hand on the door to open it, an older gentleman put his hand on my husbands shoulder and asked him for help, he did not speak much english but he managed to convey that he needed to use my husbands phone, he gave it to him.  The gentleman chatted for a minute and then handed the phone  back to my husband, the man on the other end  of the conversation told my husband he was in his car waiting to pick this gentleman up and asked my husband to  point him in the right direction.  It was a few blocks away, so we  decided to walk him.  My son and I were in front of them but I could hear them talking and when I looked back I felt so proud of him, helping this man and being so gentle with him.  I could hear them talking, my husband was trying to talk to him in yiddish (the man was from Israel) they were talking about what the man does and about my husbands grandmother.  He told my husband what he was doing was a mitzvah and the part I like most is that is not why he was helping him, he is just a super nice guy…the mensch I was lucky enough to marry :) .  When we found the car, the gentleman said Shalom to the three of us and got into the car of  the Rabbi that was waiting for him.  We did not wind up getting the other present, but to be honest with you, tonight was my favorite present he ever gave me.   Life is funny..shalom

i may have answered my question yesterday, 1..yes, nobody is reading this not even my family and 2.  snood does count because i had the world biggest crappiest day!!!  the universe is forever testing me and i do not know how to pass…trying to keep positive and going to register for snood, we shall see if this helps

day 5…does snood count?

January 5, 2010 on 9:34 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

I know, I know snood has been around for a long time…but, I used to work in schools and we did not have snood on our computers. Anyway, now my son is totally into snood and my husband downloaded the trial on our computer, the problem is after every game dave has a little poem and a whining please to register the game.  I do not want the game because i do not want to get addicted to it but I can not stand the pleading, are daves kids really hungry? the guilt is unbearable and the reality is, I would want someone to t sign up if I was the snood inventor…isn’t that what the karma project is all about…or am I being silly and it is just a game…if anyone is reading this PLEASE (as they whine in snood :) ) help me and let me know what you think!!! Thanks xx

day 4…thought about the Karma Project and changed my mind :)

January 4, 2010 on 11:31 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Today i was on twitter and I saw that Nancy Odell wanted people to join her in a competition if they got wii ea active sports for “christmas”…now, I was about to retweet her and ask, “what about if we got it for hanukah?”, but I thought about the Karma Project and I am sure she meant nothing by it and if I was her, I would not want that retweeted to me so I did not write it!   There you go…

day 2 of 365…

January 2, 2010 on 7:20 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

My husband is testing my reactions to the extreme :)

I had my first what goes around comes around incident happen within an hour.  I ” shooshed ” someone, caught myself, apologized right away and then, about an hour later my sons haircutter shooshed me…i almost died!  I guess the universe really wanted me to see how how it feels to get shooshed!!!

On a happy note about this…the truth is being  helpful and nice actually feels so good that i feel a little selfish doing it…funny

THE KARMA PROJECT…365 DAYS, BEGINS 1/1/10

December 30, 2009 on 3:04 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

I  am always making new years resolutions and always breaking them.  This year I am doing something different…they say, ” what goes around comes around, you reap what you sew, what you put out there comes back threefold”, we will see.  I am going to spend the next 365 days treating others the way I want to be treated, living the rules I set for my son, “be patient, be nice, be kind.”  I try and be like this now but honestly life gets in the way :) ..no more, i am even going to try and not fight back if someone is being mean to me..try and not even think bad thoughts.  I am going to make an effort to commit to doing this for the whole year …good may to bring in a new decade!!!  Happy new year everyone!

gluten free tip…

December 9, 2009 on 11:43 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Here is the best tip for going gluten free…DO NOT EXPECT YOUR OLD FAVORITES TO TASTE THE SAME IN THE GLUTEN FREE VERSION!!  it sounds simple but it is true, the mistake I made when I could not stick with it was eating all this gf food which did not taste like the regular food I had been eating and then I would think, oh forget it and go back to eating gluten.  Now, I try the gf foods as though I have no expectation as to what it will taste like and I decide if I like that food as a new food.  It is so liberating,do I like gluten free vegan pizza, bread, donuts, pasta etc…if so which kinds?  so far as I said I found those donuts (see yesterdays blog) and today I can tell you about, Ians gluten free vegan french bread pizza…yumo!!!!
